Decent can be so elegant! The newly refreshed cabin of this Embraer Legacy 600 is convincing proof of this. From the carpet to the headliners – this aircraft is simply a „Beauty in Gray”.

This business jet belongs to the fleet of Toyo Aviation, based in Bucharest/Romania – a company that offers charter and aircraft management, but also provides camo services. After Toyo Aviation took over this Legacy 600, it was decided to make the aircraft fit for the planned charter operations. This included refurbishing the interior.

3 years ago, we already refurbished the interior of a Cessna Citation XLS for Toyo Aviation. And after they were very satisfied with the result, they again chose AeroVisto for this refurbishment project. But to be able to convince this customer of our performance this time as well, we first had to accomplish a lot before signing the contract.

To start the negotiations, we were asked to come to Romania at short notice. The design and sample selection should take place directly on site. So, our CEO Carsten Matthiesen – with 30kg excess baggage of material samples – set off for Bucharest. But before that, we had to fulfill another requirement: The owner of the aircraft, wanted a “live rendering” during the interior design discussions. He wanted to see immediately how the choice of colors and materials would affect the look of the interior. Only if we could provide that we were allowed to come to the meeting. This was a tricky requirement to meet, but fortunately we have a network of professional partners to help us with such challenges. And Helmut Harringer was the man of the hour in this case!

Helmut was connected to us via video call from Austria. He took all suggestions and change requests live into the rendering of a Legacy 600 – until the customer was completely satisfied with the design result. After only 2 hours we had the agreement. The design was fixed. But that was not the end of Carsten’s work in Bucharest! Why?
Toyo Aviation was in a hurry with the implementation of the refurbishment – this was understandable because the new fleet member should be in operations and earn money as soon as possible. To meet the required schedule, the placement of the order had to be done on the same day. So, Carsten Matthiesen calculated and wrote the extensive offer on site – while the owner of Toyo Aviation … negotiated until the last moment. Finally, both sides agreed on a realistic budget. And even though – due to the intensive negotiations and the after-work traffic jam in Bucharest – Carsten missed his return flight; he was still able to enjoy the evening with satisfaction … especially because he was accommodated very hospitably and comfortably for the night by the owner of Toyo Aviation.
Back in Staad, we were able to start implementing this great interior. This was done in cooperation with ABS Jet in Prague and with the support of Adrian Necula as camo manager. All essential wishes of the customer were considered, and the budget was used optimally.
Leather with Stay Clean technology was used for the passenger seats, which was dyed exactly according to the customer’s wishes. New cushions and surfaces with diamond stitching complete the upgrade of the seats. The Divan was upholstered in a very elegant gray fabric from Tisca Textil – the same company that produced the carpet that matches the color of the leather. A special eye-catcher is the contrasting color of the transition between the white window liner and headliner. These valance panels were reupholstered in dark gray Ultraleather made by Tapis Corporation. New curtains, professionally cleaned Plated parts and mirrors complete the modernization of the cabin.

This cabin is now really a “Beauty in Gray” – with a cool yet very inviting style.

Film Decor Application in a dark wood look was used for the surfaces throughout the cabin. Pavel Hrdlicka, Sales and Business Development Manager at ABS Jets, is excited about this finishing option after this project. After handing over the aircraft to the owner, he told us …

“Decor Film Applications are the perfect material for charter aircraft. It’s super easy to clean and maintain, and it really makes a visual impact. I can definitely imagine using this option on other interiors as well.”

What makes this aircraft even more special is that the extensive refurbishment extends right into the cockpit. Here, too, the seats and armrests were renewed. This was particularly important to the owner – which may be because he himself is also a pilot and knows that pilots also need to feel comfortable at their workplace.
Despite the very tight schedule, we completed this extensive interior refurbish project in the planned turn-around-time of 6 weeks and handed the aircraft over to the owner on the planned delivery date. This was possible thanks to the active support of our suppliers and partners – including Tapis Corporation, who greatly helped us in this project with a very rapid delivery of materials.
